Hello there adventurers I hope you've been enjoying RPGCon so far! Today we will be looking at a new ttrpg system that is coming out from Kickstarter within the year, Avatar Legends. This system based upon the popular TV shows Avatar the Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra broke which was funded within 16 minutes of being on Kickstarters broke records on being:
It ended the Kickstarter campaign being funded $9,535,022 and reached all of its stretch goals so there is a lot of support for this game and the concept of an Avatar ttrpg as a whole.

So how does the Game Play?
Avatar Legends is a D6 ttrpg system with a lot of focus on narrative then mechanics. So it is quite different to more popular systems like DnD. To compare the two DnD has a lot of set rules and skills that a character can do and for the most part uses a D20 (20 sided Dice) with positive or negative modifiers to decide the outcome. Whereas, in Avatar Legends characters skills are a lot more open ended and as long as you roll well enough on your D6s and it makes sense within the 'fiction' of the game leaving the players with a lot of freedom.
DnD also has lots of focus on combat to resolve problems and while that is an aspect in Avatar Legends its main focus on character growth and solving conflict in multitudes of way not just violence much like the TV show it is based on.
I've had a feel for the rules myself since I played the quick start rules which can be found on their website https://magpiegames.com/pages/avatarrpg it can be a bit jarring if you started ttrpg with DnD because of the differences in the system but if you have the right friends and love the Avatar franchise it can be a lot of fun to play your own bending Character helping to save the world whether that be in the time period of Avatar, Korra or those of past Avatars.
I for one can't wait for the full ruleset with stretch goals to be released in the future so I can play or run my very own Avatar the Last Airbender campaign!
