What is Skyrim?

First off, hello! And welcome! To the fifth day of RPGCon, today we're focussing on video games that fall under the large umbrella of RPGs! I figured the best way to introduce this topic would be to take a look at one of the if not THE biggest RPG game ever made and quite possibly one of the most well known titles to any gamer- Skyrim!
So, how would I describe Skyrim? There's not really one word to sum it up but if I had to, it'd be Sandbox. Because there is so much to do and experience in this world, you could be a thieving rogue who makes their way through the ranks of the thieves guild, a powerful mage worthy of intense magics at the mage's college of Winterhold or a fierce warrior as part of the brotherhood of the companions - There are so many possibilities?
Skyrim is all about playing YOUR character, of course you'll always be the dragonborn but whether you master the arcane arts or join certain factions is up to you! Some of my fondest memories have been booting up Skyrim and spending hours in the character creator, fine tuning my perfect hero and asking questions in my head;
How did they get these scars?
How did they get to Skyrim?
What are their morals?
Character creation in any video game can be a useful creative outlet especially when applying it to other RPGs such as tabletop games.
So, to summarise, what is Skyrim? Skyrim is an adventure roleplaying game in which you create a character and send them on a sandbox adventure! Its a game that really speaks for itself so if, somehow, you haven't given it a shot yet - do!
